Does the magnetic field rotate with the magnet? that is what's known as Faradays Final Riddle.

This experiment demonstrates the 4 modes of the Homopolar Generator which seems to work in contradiction to classical electromagnetic theory because energy is generated without relative motion.

New Electromagnetism states that the rotational velocity of the magnet is irrelevant and that the power is only ever developed in the spinning disk.

Hi all,

I know this is an old post but i'm curious...

does the voltage or power change based on how far your brush is located, radially, from the center of the copper disk? further away you are bigger voltage (assuming you are within the perimeter of the magnet)?

also have you tested any smaller diameter disks? whats the relationship of electric power based on strength of magnet vs diameter of magnet? for example, if you have a 3" diameter 1 tesla disk magnet vs a 1" 1/9th tesla magnet, will you see 1/9th of the power running through the 1" disk?
