TWF: Free Energy and the fate of their inventors

It has been my assertion that most of these stories have been exaggerated (urban legends) over time. I would love for just one of these to be true (as far as the invention goes).

The secrecy clause is true; however, its application is arbitrary because it is questionable how the government would know the future impact of any invention. Why wasn't the transistor made secret and suppressed? Why wasn't the microprocessor suppressed? etc, etc. Why are all of these Free Energy inventions even known about and still being freely tinkered with by experimenters.

It is my assertion that some of these inventors were honest believers in their inventions and spent their entire lives trying to get these inventions going and didn't make it. Embarrassed relatives threw everything out. Perhaps someone actually had something but were not able to exploit the technology because they didn't understand what they had -- example: the inventor of the triode vacuum tube.

In any event I believe that AJ's Closing advice is prudent.
